Project Done

I bought a table off of KSL over a year ago. With the intentions to refinish it. Every time I thought about doing it I got lazy. It is a large table that can seat 10, having four inserts and two drop sides. I finally got the nerve to get it done.

It took a few days to give it a good sanding. I chose a butter cream Martha Stewart white paint to paint it. I am saying "I" alot but I need to say Frank. Frank painted the table with his air gun. It took a good three coats of primer and three coats of paint and three coats of clear acrylic. I went ahead and did the kitchen chairs too match. I really love how it looks. It has given this table and new life.

Peanut needed a new dresser. I have had this dresser in the kitchen using it as a buffet. It was my Great Grandma dresser. I didn't take a picture of it before I started but it was a blonde would stain. So this dresser received the same treatment as the table with the sanding and the painting.

It can hold lots for this little girl. I like the soft white cream paint very feminine and matches the room wonderfully. We started these two projects and ended these two project in just over two weeks. I knew once I started I had to finish...one being I wanted my garage back and two being we were trying to beat the cold weather. The paint works so much better in the warm weather. Frank has a good hand when it comes to painting with his air gun. Everything has a nice smooth even finish.
Love my new old Furniture.

Happy Halloween

(I can not for the life of me find out why I this picture will not rotate)

Little Peanut was a BEAR, and what a cute bear she made. I crocheted her a little hat with ears. The hat is made out of a hand spun alpaca... so so soft :) This was a great yarn to work with, you did need to be careful with it. The yarn could not be reworked much or the fibers would separate, which is very common in a hand spun yarn they are a little more loose and have some thick and thin spots.

These were the only two picture I had of Halloween. I am getting very lazy with taking the pictures. So here is our breakdown:

Beau - was a Pizza Guy. He did inform me when he grows up he wants to be the guy on the cornor of the road that spins the signs. -- Way to reach for the stars bud.

Bear - was a Kitty she found an ever so fab mask at Claire's and loved it. I made her a Halloween skirt and we attached a tail we made out of pom poms to the back.

Peanut was a Bear with her homemade hat.
Halloween is by far my favorite holiday. I love the simplicity of it and how excited my kids get for it. I also just love this time of year. This year we handed out Toothbrushes. They were received with mixed feelings from the kids but with great excitement from the parents.

County Fair Fun...

I like Fair's and Carnivals...I sure hope I don't look like the Carnival type that would come to your mind when you think of Carnival people and what is often seen at them. But I enjoy the fun. I really enjoy the County Fair because I love to see the show pieces. I love looking at the 4-H entries, the quilts, canning and the vegetables. My kids dislike walking through them all so I always am re insuring them as soon as I am done with the indoor events we can go find out door activities.
This year we found these huge balls that they climbed in and rolled around on the water.

It had to be almost 90 degrees out side...Can you imagine that smell inside them...yuck! But I put aside the germ factor paid the $14.00 fee and they had a blast.

What is a carnival without a mini pony ride -- right. I think this is the last year I will get Beau to ride the ponies... I remember one year Beau almost fell asleep on  the pony ride. I think it was the constant circles the pony goes in and mild bouncing. When I start to think back at little moments in Beau's life I start to feel a little sad that he is getting so big. I miss the time when Beau was little, riding the back of the little Geo Prizm eating a pop tart as we were on our way to work in the morning. oh---time is so fast.

Bear and her love for horses. I will talk more about that love later on in the blog.

What is a County Fair with out a Monster Truck Ride.

Birthday Party Time...

All Bear wanted for her Birthday was a "Walking Puppy". She as a real liking to dogs - but not real dogs. She is actually afraid of any size actual dog. But if it is pretend and stuffed then she loves it.

This year she got to have a friend only party. With a "yada" or you might know it as a pinata. Simple activities are such fun with kids. It did take older brother to finally break it open.

We decorated our own cupcakes. This was much more fun then having a cake already done. Everyone got a candle to blow out.

We also made aprons to wear while cake decorating. It was simple party but so much fun. Bear had a great time. She loved having all of her little friends over to play and after everyone left she has such fun playing with her gifts in her room. Bear is funny about her toys - she always wants them in her room. I don't know if she thinks someone will take them or what - I am quit sure Beau does not want them, and peanut can't crawl to touch them. Bear can be silly at time. I just love her so much!
